At ProjectorScreen.com, we sell UST projectors from the best brands like Optoma, Epson, Vava Samsung, LG and more. Explore our vast range of options, as well as supporting equipment like screens specifically designed for ultra short throw. Our experts are always on hand to help you make the best decision.
What makes a projector ultra short throw? UST projectors have a throw ratio of less than 0.4:1 (hence the name ultra short). They have very wide-angled lenses to allow for the image to be "thrown” or projected from such a short distance. In the past few years, UST projectors have come to the forefront, becoming leaders in the projection space as they completely transform and enhance your experience. Offering compact flexibility, large screen sizes and great picture quality, this could be the best projector for you.
UST projectors are also referred to as Laser TVs. This is because they typically utilize a super bright laser light source to project the image upward on your display surface and because they’re designed to replace your flatscreen tv with a much larger image size. Thanks to their super bright laser light source, when paired with a compatible ambient light rejecting screen a laser TV works in well-lit rooms making them the perfect living room television replacement.
When shopping for an ultra short throw projector, there’s a few things to keep in mind. First, consider the resolution you want (1080p, 4K, etc.). This is also key in determining what type of screen you’ll need. Secondly, light output (lumens) is a key measurement you’ll need. While most upright UST projectors will come with the right amount of lumens for most living room set ups, some are brighter than others and thus perform better in more well-lit environments. Read our reviews or ask our experts for help to determine what’s the best one for you.
While most ultra short throw beamers come with an integrated soundbar, they aren’t all equal. Sound quality also differs by projector or even by brand.
Finally, consider the distance from the screen. Yes, laser TVs must have a throw ratio of less than 0.4:1, but there is a pretty big difference between 3 feet and 1 foot from a projection screen when planning the arrangement of your room. You ideally want to have a laser TV projector with a throw ratio under 0.3:1.
While there are a lot of factors to take into account when shopping for an ultra short throw projector, don’t get overwhelmed. Simply reach out to our team with hours of hands on experience with these laser TVs to get expert recommendations on the best brands and styles to choose for your needs.
